ABOUT US

Located on the North Shore of Chicago, Kipp & Keeler is well-regarded for their client-centric approach to every project, from a single room update to a gut-rehab, or a new home construction. Regardless of the scale, their design philosophy reflects the homeowners’ lives – how they live, what they love, and who they are.

Collaboration is an integral part of the team’s process ensuring the client’s vision becomes a reality. Whether local or out of state, they can manage every aspect of the process, including working with architects, contractors, vendors, and landscape designers.

Each project presents a unique story waiting to be told. Kipp & Keeler strives to be the editor, not the author, so ultimately, the end result embodies the homeowner’s essence rather than the designer’s.

Laura Keeler Bergquist

PRINCIPAL

From an early age, Laura was drawn to beauty. Whether it was rearranging her childhood bedroom for the umpteenth time, painting canvases and walls, or mixing a vintage bamboo chair with something sleek and modern, she found joy in creativity.  Her college studies in Art and English sparked her passion for storytelling in her design work today.

Laura believes good design is all about making spaces that feel good to live in. Creating places that feel personal, warm, and a little unexpected. Her aim is to create a balance of old and new, refined and relaxed. Layering the right mix of textures and tension in a house, so it feels like, well, home.

A graduate of Harrington College of Design, Laura worked independently for many years and in 2015 opened Kipp & Keeler with now retired partner, Suzanne Kipp.

As a mother, wife, and dog parent, she understands that life is ever-evolving. She recognizes that there are different phases and stages in life’s journey, and she believes that design should adapt to meet you where you are and enhance the beauty of your current moment.
